We are looking for an Assistant Merchandiser to join our team. The ideal candidate will be someone that will align with our business core values which are ‘wow the customer’, ‘always be better’ and ‘work as a team’.

  • Interview, recruit and effectively train new team members when required

Strategy, planning, reporting and analysis

  • Support Senior Merchandiser in reviewing previous seasons and produce lessons learnt, SWOT & best and worst analysis in order to create an effective strategy for future planning and decisions. Ensure all channels and territories are reviewed.
  • Deliver insights throughout the product development and sign off process to support decisions on future ranges
  • Forecast by line to hit category budgets, sharing with wider team when required and updating on performance vs target
  • Provide analysis into size performance and availability by brand, highlighting opportunities or risks
  • Oversee admin assistant in ensuring all brand attributes are up to date and accurate
  • Prepare documents for wholesale team to produce forecast by account by style, and aid in selling
  • Manage submissions for EPR declarations by territory, ensuring data is accurate and submitted on time

Stock

  • Update and re forecast the WSSI to ensure stock levels meet the demand of the business and identify open to buy and potential under / overstocks
  • Manage forward purchase orders to ensure they are signed off with Head of B&M and Senior Merchandiser with commentary on variance to plan, and sent to production teams to hit deadlines
  • Build out size ratios per style based on past performance to optimise sales and stock
  • Manage intake and ensure buy plan and WSSI is updated to reflect
  • Optimise sales by ensuring stock is in the right location
  • Responsible for managing the exit of all discontinued and old lines in a manner that minimises the impact on margin. Work with the wholesale sales team and the e-commerce team to reduce inventory
  • Forecast and maintain availability of continuity product across the whole size curve, pulling together all continuity orders and handing over to production team, regularly reviewing material commitments / availability to reduce lead times

Sales and Trade

  • Prepare weekly trade documents including promotional analysis and style performance
  • Contribute to the trade meeting, providing insights to the wider business on, new product launches, reactions to pricing and promotional activity, best and worst sellers. Deputise for Senior Merchandiser when required
  • Report on any variance to sales forecasts and budgets
  • Monitor style performance, highlighting underperformers, proposing actions and action reforecasts

Margin

  • Work with Senior Merchandiser to manage pricing in line with strategy, with the consideration of overall margin targets
  • Propose re prices to achieve margin targets, reviewing regularly if trade requires
