We are looking for a Senior Garment Technologist to join our team. About the role:
You will be working within our Product Design Team at our Uxbridge Headquarters, reporting into our Head of Product, your responsibilities will include:
- Lead technical product development & maintain consistency of fit across brands.
- Lead & manage all internal fit sessions.
- Provide technical support to Technologists & Designers in the development of product.
- Develop patterns and grading for the development of assigned launch product using Lectra Modaris software.
- Comprehensive understanding of fabrics & functionality within the Lingerie, Swim & Active sectors
- Ensure consistency of fit within brands & conduct regular competitor fit reviews.
- Develop and train assigned team members, sharing knowledges & implementing appropriate training.
- Garment quality control, risk analysis & testing
- Attend critical path calls with vendors and communicate with Design Team to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Travel overseas to garment factories when necessary to ensure product standards are set and maintained throughout development and production.
- Instruct the Technical team to request necessary fabric, component & garment testing in accordance with our brand standards.
- Demonstrate a competent understanding of testing requirements, including awareness of global chemical testing standards.
- Assess and implement improvements to documentation to streamline our working processes and improve communication to factories.
- Oversee Pre-Production & Gold Seal samples according to the Production critical path dates.
About you:
- A minimum of five years’ experience in the technical development of fuller bust lingerie
- Experienced use of Lectra Modaris pattern cutting & grading software for wired product
- Experience in the fit & development of fuller bust products & innovation
- Comprehensive understanding of the technical requirements and production viability for fuller bust product
- Well organised fit specialist who enjoys fitting & assessing product
- Use of Adobe illustrator to create technical CADs
- Attention to detail and passionate pursuit of great-fitting product
- A passionate, proactive & self-disciplined team player
- Awareness of innovation, fabric application & testing requirements in the global lingerie & swimwear sector
- A desire to develop and support junior team members
- Excellent communicator, who enjoys collaborating with factories & building relationships
